Repo Wiki

The Reaper is a level 3 Monster, resembling a scarecrow with blades for arms.

Like most Monsters, it will roam around until it spots a player; Once it does, after a short reaction animation, where it stands straight and looks at the player, it will begin running toward them while screaming and rapidly swinging its arms, dealing 10 damage per swing and knocking hit items away.

If it spots/pursues a player under a hiding spot, it will bend down and slash at the player with one arm, also dealing 10 damage per hit but with a slower attack speed than the normal attack.

Tips[]

  • It's recommended to attack it from the sides, otherwise the Reaper has a high probability of hitting the weapon out of the player's hands.
  • Strangely, the Reaper cannot spot players that are crouching atop a table; the player can avoid or remove active detection entirely with this method.
  • Its attacks don't knock or push players despite knocking items away; If you are short of stamina, tumbling is the only way to escape.
  • The Reaper tends to be relatively easy for a level 3 Monster, being essentially a slower, grounded version of the Headman; generally, most tactics that apply to escaping a Headman can also work on a Reaper, with the additional option of jumping on high spaces; while the Reaper can jump when trying to reach a player higher up, it cannot jump very high and will likely be unable to reach them.
  • While the Reaper attacks quickly, its individual attacks do minimal damage compared to other level 3 monsters like Robe and also doesn't stun the player; if the player is about to be cornered, simply running past the Reaper and taking a hit or two to escape can often work.
  • The Reaper can be extremely destructive to valuables, with its constant slashing when pursuing a player, so players should take extra care to put their cart(s) in safe positions; if a Reaper moves near or worse, tries to path through a cart when chasing, it will often destroy almost everything in the cart!

Trivia[]

  • During Halloween, the Reaper will wear a jack o' lantern on its head, also being the only monster visually affected during Halloween.
    • The jack o' lantern is most likely controlled by a timer set in-game, yet it is unknown whether this is true or not.
